Poverty 2
Somehow, I have not been able to put forward my views effectively on poverty in a clear manner. So adding something below which I also posted in vaibhav's GB. You can also read his reply on my GB.
lack of clear understanding -> that there are "secret" supporters of society strong will-power -> not recognizing that the current solutions are ineffective and need to be changed

Formal education opens a lot of avenues for getting jobs and so is useful in eradicating poverty.
Setting up jobs in alternate areas rather than concentrating industry in one region, migrants can ease off pressure on the few ones and go to other areas plus locals have a greater chance of getting jobs, if not in the main industry, then in the parallel service sector, like autos, kirana shops and so many other services.
Minimum wages can be fixed for industries, do not ban child labour, legalise it and then the employers should spend some money in sending that child to a school where he can start learning.
6-8,9-10
We have schools in rural areas, but we don't have trained, responsible and well-paid teachers, so education takes a nose-dive in these areas, those who have money but no time can support these schools financially.
Educate everyone that poverty has to be eliminated because poor people are non-productive and hence eat up ur tax money, best use of tax money can be done to remove poverty, so that these ppl also become tax accountable in 5-10 years, so the money spent on eradicating poverty will increase the tax collections and everyone can enjoy lower rates of taxation.
Govt
Eliminating the middlemen in public distribution systems, the losses in between also account for poor implementation of govt policies.
EC can hold the govt accountable for their promises, since govts have 5 yrs in power, if they don't implement 50% of their promises, EC can impose a fine, ban them..
Its not only about economic viability but also about educating everyone, even the well-off.
