Not a movie review
(I didn't want to post this article since I didn't want to review movies here.)
Finally watched Taare after the insistence of a lot of friends.
I liked the movie. It was a unique concept to be a debut direction. I won't go into the goodie-goodie about the film, you must be already knowing about it :)
But watching it made me realise a few things.
These are not against the film, just my opinion on what was missing in the film.
1. A lot of songs could be done away with. Somehow it broke my flow whenever a song came.
2. Very supportive mom and brother. Generally this is not the case. Because a lot of times parents tend to concentrate only on the achieving child and neglect the other one.
3. On hearing that their child has dyslexia, the parents did not even bother to consult a doctor or meet the school principal.
4. The child's friend did not live in the hostel. He lived with his parents. But very easily he was able to tell that the child had left the hostel in the morning before anyone else.
5. Some people actually tend to browse a book from start to end. So the child's flip book containing the images showing him separating from his family would actually be the reverse unless one knows that s/he has to flip it from end to start. If you are a right-hander, chances are high that you'll flip it from start to end. (I tested this myself.)
My fav scene was Aamir asking the dad to read the Oriental language. I think the older child was shown losing the match to prove that even the achiever child can lose at times.
And I would definitely like to know how his boat worked :)
