Decision making case-study part 2

I read everyone's comments...varying from notions of doing right, doing just or following natural instincts.

After going through all of these, suddenly it came to my mind that one aspect has been totally ignored.
The aspect is that of the train and the dissused track.
A train taken in this case is a mass of metal which can crush anyone in its path.
From our (Indian) notions of trains, its not only deeply flawed but also cruel.
It could have been a passenger train or a goods train.
And it would be carrying a minimum of 2 people on it.

And the path which is dissused is not used any more because of some reason.
It could be unusable or no longer serving any purpose.
But it being unusable means, it won't be able to support the train for any number of technical reasons.

By diverting the course, the subject would also be endangering the life of at least the driver and his helper,
who would have no idea of whats going on and are also "innocent".

I agree, that all this in retrospect seems very easy and simple.
But knowing this actually helps, exemplified in my next post.
